Saint Paul Public Schools and No Child Left Behind  U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige stopped by Saint Paul Public Schools to promote No Child Left Behind. While visiting students and staff at Sheridan Elementary School, Paige said he was "very impressed" by what he saw. According to the U.S. Department of Education, the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) is designed to improve student achievement and change the culture of America's schools.
With passage of No Child Left Behind, Congress reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)--the principal federal law affecting education from kindergarten through high school.
